Invoices for work on the side

Skrolla does two jobs for people with a Nebenberuf or small freelance practice: write a careful outgoing PDF invoice, and read the XRechnung and ZUGFeRD files business customers now send. No chart of accounts, no DATEV export, no time tracking — just documents done properly.

Outgoing: a correct PDF quickly

Fill seller, customer, lines and tax mode — Kleinunternehmer, domestic VAT or reverse charge. Skrolla tracks mandatory fields for § 14 (4) UStG and prints the legal notices the modes require.

Three PDF downloads per month are free. That is enough for many side gigs; Pro is for when invoicing is a monthly habit.

Incoming: E-Rechnungen you must accept

Even as a Kleinunternehmer you must receive structured e-invoices since 2025. Skrolla parses XRechnung XML and embedded XML in hybrid PDFs, then archives locally.

Privacy by architecture

Invoice drafts, logos and parsed files stay in localStorage and IndexedDB. Skrolla has no invoice database. The trade-off is explicit: clear browser data and your archive goes with it — export what you need to keep.

Pro adds your logo, removes the small PDF footer line, and enables ZIP export of the archive. Checkout runs through Stripe; entitlement is a signed cookie, not a password account.

This page summarises public rules as Skrolla understands them for 2026. It is not tax or legal advice. When money or doubt is involved, ask a Steuerberater.
